What You'll Do:

Accompany our ophthalmologists during patient exams, documenting every detail of the visit in real time within our EMR.
Record patient histories, chief complaints, exam findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
Enter ophthalmic test results, imaging reports, and procedure documentation.
Prep patient charts ahead of appointments by reviewing prior records and diagnostic testing.
Assist with orders for medications, labs, imaging, and referrals as directed by the physician.
Keep patient records accurate, complete, and fully HIPAA-compliant.
Team up with clinical staff to keep patient flow moving efficiently.
Support documentation-related administrative tasks as needed.
Stay sharp on ophthalmic terminology, procedures, and EMR best practices.

What You Bring:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree a plus.
Experience as a medical scribe, ophthalmic technician, or in a healthcare setting preferred.
Familiarity with ophthalmic terminology and anatomy preferred.
Comfort with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
Excellent typing speed and computer skills.
Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
A professional, detail-driven approach and the ability to keep information confidential.
The energy and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Bonus Points For:

Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography).
Understanding of common eye diseases and treatments.
A sharp eye for detail and accuracy in documentation.

Setting: Ophthalmology clinic / specialty eye care practice.
Schedule: Full-time, hours based on clinic operations.
